The greate Healer

The medical team from the states has left. They arrived in Kenya on Sunday and on Monday 9am they were already seeing patients in Maai Mahiu Town. They gave their all for the week they stayed in the town. No lunch breaks but only grabbing an energy bar when one had the time. One doctor said he had never eaten so many bars in a short time all his life. The love, the passion and commitment was evident as they worked hard to ease the pain of those who they were able to see. Many teeth were pulled and eyes checked with glasses available for those who needed them. Other ailements were treated too as they came. We also offered Voluntary Counseling and Testing (VCT) for HIV/AIDS. So many people were willing to be tested to know their status. Sometimes it was hard to deal with the results but we were comforted by the hope that we have in Christ that he never leaves nor forsakes but is with his people all the time. I took time to pray and encourage many who were hurting so bad due to their ailments. Thanks to God who is our healer for all deseases and the hope we can give to people who have faith in him. Not only for physical healing but for spritual healing too.
To prepare for this team we had to register the people who would be seen and match up numbers so that we had all doctors busy for the day. It was astonishing to see the numbers that came for registration. We could only register 600 but thousands came. I had a hard time telling some that they will be treated, while sending others home with no help with their pain. The need is great but no means to get to proper health care services.
I am encouraged by the faith that I saw in many people. Though in poverty and still in great pain due to illnesses, many people still hang on to their faith and were glorifying God for enabling them to see a new day. I cant remember how many times they said thank you for the opportunity to be seen by doctors for free. I thank God for enabling me to be part of this noble ministry. Be our partner, and pray for our Town or even support us to give medical care to many who need it. just visit ctcinternational.org and it will lead you to our donation page. Blessings to you all and keep checking
